Di kala warga Malaysia meraikan Aidilfitri di kampung halaman, kami yang diperantauan pun tak terlepas dari pengalaman balik kampung, cuma kampung yang berlainan dari kebiasaan. Perjalanan ke utara ala ke Kota Kuala Muda kali ini menuju ke Copenhage, merentasi German, tanah tumpah dan bumi kelahiran BMW. Oleh kerana kesibukan menyambut Aidilfitri di bumi Belanda, persiapan sang musafir hanya dapat dilakukan di pagi kedua hari raya, hari bertolak. Map ANWB, map Europe, route direction by viamichelin, kompas, makanan dan tak lupa, selimut dan bantal, khas buat penumpang first class. So we departed nearly 4pm after hours of delay from the original departure time (after subuh). Route in Holland is pretty simple, Voorschoten - Amsterdam - Apeldoorn. Ini je dah 2.5 hours (Shah Alam - Muar). And yes, there was traffic jam after Schiphol but the road was clear after exit to Almere. Refuelled at Shell near Apeldoorn and the day was getting darker. Masuk German, where speed limit is 'recommended' at 130kmh, perut dah lapar. Unfortunately, we got to travel for about 1 - 1.5hrs as no R&R found. Luckily, I saw big sinage of Burgerking far from the hiway and cari le jalan keluar. Rupanya it is an R&R but terkeluar sikit from hiway, so we had dinner there (fish burger + fries + hot cheese cucur). Continue the journey in the dark, pass Bremen but co-pilot dah ajak stop tido. Cannot...baru 3 hrs je, jauh lagi nak sampai copenhagen, so I we called an Ibis Hotel at Hamburg, Germany for the overnight stop. That took another 2.5hrs and reached there around 9.30pm.


Next day, after breakfast, we drove to the fish market nearby, opposite Hamburg port. Then drive and drive. Masuk Denmark, stop to exchange cash (they still use krone, not euro). Ada police road block but luckily dia org check passport jer (our Ducth driving license still in progress, so bawak Msian IC je as the driving license). Dipendekkan cerita, from Hamburg arnd 10.30am, we reached our destination at 4pm. So, in total, we have been on the road (plus sleep stop over) for 24hrs covering 1001.1 km... wow... bravo BMW!!!

Driving back was shorter. 984km in 9.5 hrs. Only few short stop for refuelling & short lunch, plus solat tepi kereta. Max speed 180kmh but more comfortable at 160-170kmh. Some people say this is normal or they have gone faster...if you have the same tought, sah u r mat rempit!!!
